Here at the The St George's Police Children Trust, we are delighted to welcome Darren Townsend to our Board of Trustees. Darren has also become a Trustee of the Police Treatment Centres
Darren is a serving police officer of 26 years service and currently the General Secretary of the British Transport Police Federation.
Darren previously served in South Yorkshire Police before taking a career break studying in Alberta, Canada. On returning to the UK, he transferred to British Transport Police North East area. Darren has a BSc (Hons) in Policing and is currently studying towards a MSc Masters in Research looking at Evidence Based Policing. Away from work, Darren is a keen supporter of Tottenham Hotspur F.C. and Sheffield Steelers ice hockey.
The St George's Police Children Trust charity is governed by a Board of Trustees. The Board provides strategic guidance through business planning; agrees and sets an annual budget; and monitors activity and service provision through regular reports on service delivery, the annual Business Plan and annual budget. Our Trustees are drawn from both England and Wales and Scotland police staff associations.
